Section 29. Powers of entry, inspection, etc.
(1) Subject to rules, the Central Apprenticeship Adviser (or an authorised officer not below Assistant Apprenticeship Adviser rank) may: (a) enter, inspect and examine any establishment at any reasonable time, with assistants if needed; (b) examine any apprentice, require production of registers/records, and take statements; (c) make such examination and inquiry as needed to check compliance with this Act and its rules; (d) exercise other prescribed powers.
Proviso: The State Apprenticeship Adviser (or authorised officer) may exercise the same powers for State-Government-regulated establishments.
(2) No person is compelled under this section to answer any question or make any statement that may tend to incriminate him.
