Section 34. Delegation of powers

The appropriate Government may, by Gazette notification, direct that any power exercisable by it under this Act or its rules is also exercisable, subject to specified conditions: (a) where the appropriate Government is the Central Government — by a subordinate Central officer/authority, or by the State Government or its subordinate officer/authority, as specified; and (b) where the appropriate Government is the State Government — by a subordinate State officer/authority, as specified.
