Section 154B. Publication of Information Respecting Persons in Certain Cases – Customs Act, 1962

154B. Publication of information respecting persons in certain cases

  1. Notwithstanding anything in any other law, the Central Government may, if it is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient in the public interest, publish the name and any other particulars relating to any proceedings under this Act in respect of a person, in such manner as it thinks fit.
  2. No publication shall be made in relation to any penalty imposed under this Act until the time for presenting an appeal has expired without an appeal having been presented, or the appeal, if presented, has been disposed of.
  3. Explanation: publication under this section may include circumstances of the case and the amounts of duty, penalty or interest imposed.
