Section 13. Scientific Panels
The Food Authority establishes Scientific Panels of independent scientific experts, who invite relevant industry and consumer representatives into their deliberations. Panels are established at least on food additives/flavourings/processing aids and contact materials; pesticide and antibiotic residues; genetically modified organisms and foods; functional foods, nutraceuticals and dietetic products; biological hazards; contaminants in the food chain; labelling; and sampling and analysis methods, with the Food Authority free to establish further Panels as needed.
The Food Authority may re-constitute Panels from time to time by adding or omitting members or renaming a Panel.
