Section 19. Use of food additive or processing aid
No article of food may contain a food additive or processing aid except in accordance with this Act and its regulations. A “processing aid” is a substance or material (not apparatus or utensils, and not itself consumed as an ingredient) used in processing raw materials or food to fulfil a technological purpose, which may leave non-intentional but unavoidable residues in the final product.
