Section 43. Recognition and accreditation of laboratories, research institutions and referral food laboratory
The Food Authority may notify food laboratories and research institutions accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories or an equivalent agency for carrying out sample analysis by Food Analysts, and must establish or recognise one or more referral food laboratories to perform the functions entrusted to them under the Act.
The Food Authority may frame regulations on the functions and local areas of food and referral laboratories, the procedure for submitting samples for analysis, the form of laboratory reports and applicable fees, and other matters necessary for the laboratories to function effectively.
