Section 37A. Adjudication of penalties

The Registrar may authorise an officer appointed under section 3 to act as adjudicating officer, holding inquiries and imposing penalties under the Act in the prescribed manner, after giving the person concerned a reasonable opportunity of being heard.

Note: This section was inserted by the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2023, with effect from 1 August 2024, as part of a broader decriminalisation reform that replaced certain offences under this Act with an administrative penalty mechanism.
