Section 5. Geographical Indications Registry and offices thereof
This section establishes the Geographical Indications Registry. Its head office location is fixed by the Central Government through a Gazette notification, and branch offices may be set up at other places to make registration more accessible.
The Central Government may also define, by notification, the territorial limits within which each office of the Registry exercises its functions, and the Registry has its own official seal. The Geographical Indications Registry is headquartered at Chennai.
