Section 70. Registrar and other officers not compellable to produce register, etc.
The Registrar or any officer of the Geographical Indications Registry, in legal proceedings to which he is not a party, cannot be compelled to produce the register or any other document in his custody whose contents can be proved by a certified copy issued under this Act, nor to appear as a witness to prove matters recorded in it, unless the court orders otherwise for special cause.
