1. Short title, extent and commencement
(1) This Act may be called the Indian Partnership Act, 1932.
(2) It extends to the whole of India.
(3) It shall come into force on the 1st day of October, 1932, except section 69, which shall come into force on the 1st day of October, 1933.
Note: Sub-section (2) was substituted by the A.O. 1950; it originally applied to specified provinces. The words “except the State of Jammu and Kashmir” were omitted by Act 34 of 2019, s. 95 and the Fifth Schedule (w.e.f. 31-10-2019).
