Section 148 – Patents Act, 1970

148. Declaration by infant, lunatic, etc.

(1) Where a person is incapable, by reason of minority, lunacy or other disability, of making a statement or doing anything required under the Act, his lawful guardian, committee or manager (or, if none, a court-appointed person) may make the statement or do the thing in his name and on his behalf.

(2) Such an appointment may be made by the court on petition of a person acting on behalf of the disabled person, or any other interested person.
