THE SCHEDULE

Under section 3(2)(va), committing any of the following offences under the Indian Penal Code against a person or property, knowing the person to be a member of a Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or the property to belong to such a member, attracts the punishment specified under the Indian Penal Code for that offence, in addition to a fine:
- Sections 120A–120B — Criminal conspiracy: definition and punishment
- Sections 141–148 — Unlawful assembly and rioting (definition, membership, punishment, and rioting armed with a deadly weapon)
- Section 217 — Public servant disobeying direction of law with intent to save person from punishment or property from forfeiture
- Sections 319–320 — Hurt and grievous hurt (definitions)
- Sections 323–326B — Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt, including by dangerous weapons or by throwing/attempting to throw acid
- Section 332 — Voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from his duty
- Section 341 — Punishment for wrongful restraint
- Sections 354–354D — Assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty; sexual harassment; assault or use of force to disrobe; voyeurism; and stalking
- Sections 359–365 — Kidnapping and abducting (including with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine a person)
- Section 376B — Sexual intercourse by husband upon his wife during separation
- Section 376C — Sexual intercourse by a person in authority
- Section 447 — Punishment for criminal trespass
- Section 506 — Punishment for criminal intimidation
- Section 509 — Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman
Note: This Schedule was inserted by the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act, 2015 (Act 1 of 2016), with effect from 26 January 2016. Section references are to the Indian Penal Code, 1860, which has since been replaced by the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, for offences committed on or after 1 July 2024; the Act itself has not been formally amended to substitute the corresponding BNS section numbers.
