The Second Schedule — Notice of Intended Marriage

We hereby give you notice that a marriage under the Special Marriage Act, 1954, is intended to be solemnized between us within three calendar months from the date hereof.
The notice requires each party (referred to as A.B. and C.D.) to state their name, condition (unmarried / widower or widow / divorcee), occupation, age, dwelling place, permanent dwelling place (if the present dwelling place is not permanent), and length of residence, and to sign the notice before the Marriage Officer.

Note: This is the notice which, under section 5, must be given in writing to the Marriage Officer of the district in which at least one of the parties has resided for not less than thirty days immediately preceding the date of the notice. On receipt, the Marriage Officer enters and publishes it under section 6, opening a thirty-day window for objections under section 7.
