Section 37. Appeal to the Bar Council of India
(1) A person aggrieved by an order of a State Bar Council’s disciplinary committee under section 35 (or the Advocate-General of the State) may, within sixty days of communication of the order, appeal to the Bar Council of India.
(2) The appeal is heard by the Bar Council of India’s disciplinary committee, which may pass such order (including varying the punishment) as it deems fit.
Proviso: No order shall be varied so as to prejudicially affect the aggrieved person without giving him a reasonable opportunity of being heard.
