Section 50. Repeal of certain enactments
(1) On constitution of a State Bar Council, specified provisions of the Indian Bar Councils Act, 1926 (sections 3–7, 9(1)-(3), 15 and 20) stand repealed in that Bar Council’s territory.
(2) On Chapter III coming into force, specified provisions of the Legal Practitioners Act, 1879, the Bombay Pleaders Act, 1920, the Indian Bar Councils Act, 1926, and relevant Letters Patent provisions relating to admission and enrolment of legal practitioners stand repealed.
(3) On Chapter IV coming into force, specified provisions of the same Acts (and the Supreme Court Advocates (Practice in High Courts) Act, 1951) conferring the right to practise stand repealed.
(4) On Chapter V coming into force, specified provisions relating to suspension, removal or dismissal of legal practitioners stand repealed.
(5) When the whole Act has come into force: (a) the remaining unrepealed provisions of the Acts referenced in this section (except sections 1, 3 and 36 of the Legal Practitioners Act, 1879) stand repealed; (b) the enactments in the Schedule stand repealed to the extent mentioned there.
