Section 58AD. Special provisions with respect to certain persons migrating to India
Notwithstanding the repeal of the Legal Practitioners Act, 1879 (or other law relating to admission and enrolment of legal practitioners), a person who migrates to India from an area that, before 15 August 1947, was comprised within India as defined by the Government of India Act, 1935, and who was, before migration, a pleader, mukhtar or revenue agent under any law in force there, may be admitted and enrolled as such under the relevant provisions of the earlier Act/law if he (a) applies to the appropriate authority under that Act/law, and (b) is a citizen of India fulfilling any other conditions specified by that authority. Such a person retains the same practice rights and disciplinary jurisdiction as if the relevant provisions had not been repealed.
