Section 58AG. Special provisions in relation to articled clerks
A person who, immediately before 31 December 1976, had commenced articleship and passed the Preliminary examination for enrolment as an attorney of the Calcutta High Court under the rules formerly made under section 34(2), may be admitted as an advocate on the State roll if he: (i) passes, on or before 31 December 1980, the Final examination (if he had already passed the Intermediate examination by 31 December 1976) or both the Intermediate and Final examinations (in any other case); (ii) applies for enrolment under this Act; and (iii) fulfils clauses (a), (b), (e) and (f) of section 24(1).
Explanation: For this purpose, the Calcutta High Court may prescribe rules under section 34(2) specifying the nature of the examinations and related matters.
